WENDY AND TOM DINE OUT

This is what an American restaurant should look like! The outside is well manicured with wooden American flags draped under the windows. The interior has the traditional red, white and blue theme. Although the decor is wood, brass, and glass with paddle fans and stained glass, there are lots of little "American" touches. For instance, the wait staff wear neckties that resemble American flags and the banquettes have a dark blue background with gold stars. The menu includes upscale American food from sandwiches to burgers, steaks, barbecue, and salads. We only saw a luncheon menu, but suspect the dinner menu is similar. We ordered and shared the daily appetizer special, which was Mussels Dijonaise. The portion was ample for two and the mussels can in a mustard wine sauce that was excellent.
