WENDY AND TOM DINE OUT

Authentic diners are fun places to visit just for their history alone. The interior of this one is full of diner memorabilia, old metal advertising signs, and neon signs. The tables and chairs are reminiscent of the diner era. There is counter and table seating in the diner part of the restaurant and added table seating in a side section. This diner's motto is "Pay light, eat heavy." That can be interpreted as eat lots of food for a reasonable price. The menu is not laden with heavy, greasy items, but rather a blend of sandwiches, dinner plates, and salads. Breakfast is served all day too. The "House Special" is Roast Turkey Dinner with real mashed potatoes, vegetable, squash, stuffing, and cranberry sauce for $7.95 ($8.95 with all white meat). The diner tends to be noisy with lots of activity. It appears to be a child friendly spot.

ENTREE:

Diner Express ($4.95) Excellent - Half of a Tuna Fish Sandwich and a small Garden Salad. The tuna was plentiful and made with a high quality mayonnaise and white tuna. The small salad was served in a chipped plastic "wooden" bowl with an assortment of greens and an excellent blue cheese dressing with large pieces of blue cheese.

Chicken Kabob Salad ($7.25) Very Good - The chicken was marinated in Greek dressing with Feta cheese and was good, but not great. There was a nice variety of greens and vegetables in the the salad and it was a large serving.

Rib Eye Steak and Eggs ($8.95 breakfast special) Very Good - a small but tasty piece of meat with soggy, but well flavored home fries and good rye toast.

2 Eggs, Toast and Bacon with Home Fries ($5.95) Very Good - Bacon was crispy, toast was buttered, but the home fries were soggy.
