WENDY AND TOM DINE OUT

The Great Wall offers a dim sum luncheon on Saturdays and Sundays that features the "standard" offerings. By standard, we mean that the items are the usual ones that Americans look for on a menu. Nothing exotic, just good quality Chinese. While we did not order from this menu, others in our group did. We ordered from the regular menu and were very pleased with our selections.

Pat Couture, one of the diners who chose from the dim sum menu offers the following comments - "The food was of excellent quality. The dim sum was very nice, but the menu was somewhat limited. There was only one shrimp dish, shrimp balls, (a fried version, probably containing shrimp, but the shrimp was not evident). A cold noodle dish, Tam Tam, was excessively salty which obscured the melange of flavors which should be apparent in that dish. Tops on our dim sum table was a pork soup with sliced rice sticks (a thick noodle bar, sliced on the diagonal like a carrot). The soup was delicate and tasty and just the right balance for the rice stick noodles. Many, if not most, of the items that our group ordered were fried, and I think there were not many choices that were not fried.Sticky roast pork and sweet bean buns were good, but not excellent. Filling was sparse. Prices were moderate ($.75 for each sticky bun). A try at the lunchtime buffet might be nice for this restaurant, but for dim sum, I would try another place."
