Jimmy's shows how a store front can be transformed into a quite attractive, small restaurant. The decor here is simple, but interesting. All of the tables and chairs do not match, but they do complement each other. Most are made of oak and have tiny lamps with tiffany-style shades. Painting are on the wall and soft, classical, background music can be heard. The wait staff is particularly attentive and appears to sense what the diner might need before the request is made. The day we were there, there seemed to be as many wait staff as diners! Service is particularly speedy. We visited for brunch (served until 1:45 pm), but there also is a weekday lunch menu, as well as a nightly dinner menu. We did not view these, but we liked the restaurant well enough to return and sample a different meal.

APPETIZER: |
Onion Soup - average quality - came in a small bowl with croutons floating in it as well as strings of cheese, the beef stock was a little salty for our taste |
|
ENTREE: |
Red Pepper , Onion, Mushroom, and Cheddar Omelet ($4.50 for omelet with roasted potatoes and $5.50 for the omelet with fresh fruit) - very good - fruit was very fresh and colorful |
|
Smoked Salmon Bagel ($5.25) - very good - served with cream cheese, onion, tomato, capers (optional), bagel was buttered and grilled, which tasted fine but would have fit our needs better if the butter had been ommitted, a slice of onion might have been preferable to small slivers that were a little grey and attached to each other at one end |
