WENDY AND TOM DINE OUT

King Buffet is like a Chinese, "Old Country Buffet", but not quite as nice. The interior is white, green and black with neon lights over the serving areas. It is a fairly clean restaurant with very average food. On the other hand, it is convenient to the highway and T.F. Green airport. This eatery has an "All you can eat" dinner buffet for $9.39 on Monday through Wednesday and a Seafood Dinner Buffet for $9.99 Thursday through Sunday. They also serve regular Chinese meals, but one entree is almost as expensive as the total buffet, so this option does not appear to be a good one. A soft drink is included in the price, which is very reasonable for the amount of food, the overall quality of the food and the service. We arrived at the Buffet King at about 5:45 p.m. for dinner and it looked as if the entrees had been sitting since the lunch meal. Many were a bit soggy and some were a bit sticky. However, as more diners arrived and bowls got emptied, they were quickly replenished with a much nicer, hotter, fresher item. While the Crab Rangoon were a bit "pasty" when we arrived, the replacement were crisp, hot, and very nice. This is a place where diners should choose a few items that they like and stick with those. For dessert there is soft serve ice cream, pastries, chocolate pudding , tapioca pudding, and some canned or fresh fruit. A small salad bar is also available. We will return here because it gives a wide variety of dishes to choose from (about 50) and we have now determined what are our favorites.
