We are told that the Victory Cafe and Bakery used to be a deli. Now it is a small, cozy, restaurant with lots of charm. It is located in Monument Square in a pedestrian area so it has no cars passing by its windowed front wall. There is a garage next door, however. Outdoor seating is available. Tables have white tablecloths and "mix and match" china. Each elegant cup and saucer and each individual tea pot has a different pattern. Coffee pots are also distinctive and made of silver. An interesting topiary sits in one window. The Victory Cafe roasts its own coffee and also has a nice variety of loose teas to choose from. Breakfast is served all day and afternoon tea is available. If a patron would like a particular coffee roasted, it can be done by the pound in 20 - 25 minutes. The Bakery makes all the breads and has several varieties for sale by the loaf. A glass case in the restaurant displays some of the inviting pastries made on the premises. Some items are available for take-out. The day were there two of the daily specials were, Maine Lobster Benedict ($10.95) and Lobster Hash ($11.95).
